October round up - indigo and bullion knots!

October's colour was indigo in our 4" square challenge, it's always lovely to see what people come up with.

And then there's bullion knots in the 52tagshannemade stitch along. I think we may have some converts! I for one love bullion knots - once I got to grips with them; a bit of practice and they become addictive. If you think they're not for you, persist, you might be surprised!

In the Pink!

Our monthly 4" square challenge has come round again and September's colour is pink. A few of us have been quick off the mark!

We've also been keeping up with Anne Brooke's tags and a few other bits and bobs!
Really looking forward to the proper meeting on Monday 20th.

And in case you were running out...

Online courses

Here's another example form one of our members, Lynda, of a Zara Day online course she's been on. This one was another coral based one but previously members have enjoyed other courses Zara has done.

This month's 4" square challenge was turquoise (there's a few stray's from previous months too!)

AND... last but not least Reasons to buy fabric 6.

Reasons to buy fabric 5 AND threads!

So, I'm not a sun worshipper, it's been way too hot for my liking I have to say, although not too hot for stitching. My friends from the group think I'm a bad influence because I keep tempting them with the threads I've been buying - it's the heat - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.😂

I'm a little bit addicted to Paint-Box Threads and got a bit carried away (not for the first time!):

These are lovely hand-dyed cotton threads and I've been putting them to good use. Have a look at the website [link above] and see if you can resist temptation.
Cathy Really has started posting YouTube videos for the new Bug  Box stitch along; two bugs so far...

Members have been catching up with the 52 tags challenge and our monthly square and I have finished one of my mini books which was lurking under a pile of unfinished things.
We're also at Yarndale this year [keeping everything crossed Covid doesn't interfere] and so we're busy making plans for that; it's involved me rummaging around in the roof looking for things which were 'tidied' and has proved to be a very hot job - I feel some restorative thread shopping coming on...

Here's a photo catch up.

Bit of crochet while watching the Olympics by Judith, who has just joined our WhatsApp chat - what a boon thats been over lockdown.

It's been a busy week!

There has been a flurry of activity amongst Skipton Stitchers! It's a new month so a new colour for the 4 inch square challenge - lilac. There has been a bit of catching up going on with #52tagshannemade as well. Friday's tag was 'a bunch of flowers' using a colour you don't normally use which is always a bit of a challenge. I did ask Anne on her YouTube comments bit for the last tag if she had anything brewing for when the 52 tags are finished because there's going to be a big hole left to fill. Many of us have come to enjoy joining in with stitch alongs over the past year, stitching has kept us going and it's been wonderful to 'meet' people we wouldn't have under normal circumstances. Anne did say she was thinking about something for 2022 which is brilliant!

Here's another round up of member's latest efforts (in no particular order):
