Bobbin Along

Sue C led a fabulous mini workshop called Bobbin Along - embroideries round bobbins. Sue brought some examples of the ones she has made and is currently working on Autumn as part of a four seasons set. We tackled Christmas - it's not that far off... We transferred words and sketched out designs on our fabric strips ready to embroider. What a lovely, therapeutic day of stitching; we've not quite finished but will bring our bobbins back at the December meeting to show everyone. Sue also brought a box of goodies so we could decorate the tops of the bobbins. Can't wait to see what everyone has done.

Sue's completed bobbins and our works in progress:

A flurry of activity!

We've had a great team of members who spent Thursday putting up our exhibition, which opens today. It's lovely to see what people were up to during the lockdown. Here's a before peek. More pictures to follow after the exhibition closes.

There's also been a flurry of activity on the Anne Brooke tag front with tags on tags and tassels.

In the Pink!

Our monthly 4" square challenge has come round again and September's colour is pink. A few of us have been quick off the mark!

We've also been keeping up with Anne Brooke's tags and a few other bits and bobs!
Really looking forward to the proper meeting on Monday 20th.

And in case you were running out...

A few photos and future plans.

The weather is lovely at the moment but, no doubt it won't last and we'll be into Autumn before too long. I love Autumn though - beautiful colours and light.

We're getting organised for Yarndale: packs to buy and a workshop; organisation of the exhibition in October is progressing, thanks to a small group who have volunteered to take that on; the programme is filling up nicely and the next meeting will be the AGM - September is looking like a busy month with a committee meeting thrown in for good measure.

Enjoy a lovely cup of tea (Yorkshire tea is my preference, although the odd cup of Oolong goes down nicely) whatever the weather.
