Handmade Beads
This month Sally led a workshop on making handmade beads.
We turned unpromising looking magazine pages into lovely beads of various shapes and sizes. Bamboo skewers, magazine pages and a glue stick are all that's needed to roll beads and then seal with Modge Podge or clear nail varnish. We also added tissue and napkins to jazz up some that were a bit boring. Once we'd mastered paper we moved onto fabric beads using paper straws as the centre wrapped in felt. A bit of stitching, wrapping and embellishing produced some chunky beads. Great fun and therapeutic if a bit fiddly!
Some templates for different bead shapes will be in our resources shortly.
