July Meeting

What a change from our last meeting weather wise. In June it was a bit on the chilly side but today it was glorious. Lovely to chat with those who had been to the Regional Summer School at Bishop Burton and see what they had been up to. Although we have been sharing what we've been up to online, it's really good to see our stitching in reality - lots of oohing and aahing. There's such a diversity of skills and interests and I hope we will be able to get back to some sort of normality with meetings while erring on the side of caution.

We don't usually meet in August but we are this year. Hopefully the weather willcontinue to be kind but of not we should be able to use the church hall.

An eclectic collection

Reasons to buy fabric 4 and what we've been doing with it!

A little round up of some of the latest projects members have been up to - quite an eclectic collection and range of skills and ideas.

So... two different trees, one with traditional hand embroidery and one a little different (from a kit on Alex Waylett's website).

A lampshade and eco-dyeing - unconnected!

And last but not least some mixed media work.

Beginning of July round up.

Well, it's beginning to look a lot like summer! Lovely warm weather, not too hot and the garden is looking flowery. I thought I would post today as even I will be watching the football tomorrow; come on England! We have been busy with the #52tagshannemade and some other projects along the way.

Oh and reasons to buy fabric... number 2 and 3! Just because I forgot last week...

Here's a couple for Anne Brooke's map of favourite tags from participants all over the world, worth a look on her Instagram to see where they've come from.

Some other projects:
Fabric book inspired by Anne Brooke's challenges and Mrs Bertimus

Jackie's quilt with Inktense flowers.

Last but not least #52tagshannemade tags 26, 27 and some strays!

That's been a productive couple of weeks! We're meeting again Monday July 19th and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to. Please look us up on Instagram - we've passed the 400 followers mark but would love some more 😁. Happy stitching.

Reasons to buy fabric.

I was given a great list of reasons to buy fabric by one of our members, so I thought I would occasionally post one. Here's number 1.

June meeting

We had our first in person meeting in a long time today! It was lovely to see people and chat. Unfortunately, it was a bit on the chilly side after all the warm weather we have had. We agreed the constitution for our newly formed independent group and then shared what we have been up to in recent months. We are hoping to meet again in July (possibly in August too) and then fingers crossed for an indoor September meeting.

Here's some photos of today's get together (all wrapped up!).

Serena has been on a tatting mission and cross stitching more of her own designs.

Some lovely book pages:
