Bobbin Along

Sue C led a fabulous mini workshop called Bobbin Along - embroideries round bobbins. Sue brought some examples of the ones she has made and is currently working on Autumn as part of a four seasons set. We tackled Christmas - it's not that far off... We transferred words and sketched out designs on our fabric strips ready to embroider. What a lovely, therapeutic day of stitching; we've not quite finished but will bring our bobbins back at the December meeting to show everyone. Sue also brought a box of goodies so we could decorate the tops of the bobbins. Can't wait to see what everyone has done.

Paper Roses

We had a great morning making paper roses with member Sally H. Sally's samples of various roses, daisies, lilies and wild flowers were absolutely stunning. Our efforts weren't that bad either! They're made from crepe paper and look so realistic. We were really inspired, so much so that we have persuaded her to run a daisy workshop next AGM day. Thanks to Sally for a brilliant workshop.

It was the AGM and we are pleased to welcome Marjorie R and Sally H to the committee. Officer's roles are the same. We also made Yarndale preparations; we have the Skipton Castle project on display; a workshop making hearts and a rag sale - everything a pound - we have destashed so we can add to yours!

Sally's gorgeous flowers.

Our roses; we stretched, tweaked and curled; wrapped, fanned and glued and produced a lovely bunch of roses.

Brownies and Butterflies

Claire, Dee, Sue and Pauline have spent time with Skipton Methodist Brownies working on a little project. The Brownies have been designing butterflies, stitching them and turning them into cards. Here are the lovely results with some of the design process.
